Covid-19: Parliament has declared state of emergency for 60 days
The state of emergency was established for the period 17 March - 15 May 2020.
Specific measures shall be adopted by the Commission for Emergency Situations.
Measures declared by Prime Minister Ion Chicu in Parlament (17.03.2020):
- Deferral of payments under mortgage loans
- Postponement of term of payment of income tax for Q1 and Q2 2020
- NBM shall soften the lending policy (reduction of the base rate)
- NBM shall support commercial banks for lending to strategic companies
- Utilities are ready to defer or reduce tariffs
- Analyzing the possibility to expand the national agriculture fund
- Temporary financial support for businesses in the food and energy sectors (no risks now)
- Proposing to reduce the VAT rate for HORECA in the coming days
- MinFinshall change regs providing for increased (maybe doubled) compensation for the Prima Casă mortgage program
- The state shall be unable to indemnify for all losses or consequences.
